CareQR - Disclaimer

CareQR is a digital tool that helps users share selected emergency information via QR code. The Service is provided by RemoteKonnect on an "as is" basis and is intended to support, not replace, professional medical advice, diagnosis, or emergency care.

1. No Medical Advice

Information displayed through CareQR, including emergency profiles, medical notes, and instructions, is entered by users and is for informational purposes only. CareQR and RemoteKonnect:

• Do not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, or clinical advice.
• Do not verify the medical accuracy of details entered into profiles.
• Are not acting as a healthcare provider or emergency service.

Always seek the advice of qualified healthcare professionals for any questions regarding a medical condition.

2. No Guarantee of Emergency Response

While CareQR is designed to assist in emergencies, we cannot and do not guarantee that:

• First responders or bystanders will scan or notice the QR code.
• Internet access or device connectivity will be available at the time of scanning.
• People will interpret or act on the information in a particular way.
• Outcomes of medical incidents will be improved by using CareQR.

3. User Responsibility

You are solely responsible for:

• Entering accurate, complete, and up-to-date information in your profiles.
• Obtaining consent to share information about other individuals where required.
• Deciding which details are visible publicly via the QR code.
• Reviewing and updating your information as your circumstances change.

RemoteKonnect is not responsible for any harm resulting from incorrect, outdated, or incomplete information entered by users.

4. Third-Party Services

CareQR relies on third-party services, including Supabase for data storage and Stripe for payment processing, as well as hosting providers. While we choose reputable providers, we do not control their uptime, performance, or security measures and are not liable for their failures or outages.

5. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, RemoteKonnect and its directors, officers, employees, and agents are not liable for:

• Any injury, loss, or damage arising from reliance on information displayed via CareQR.
• Delays in accessing or displaying emergency information.
• Failure of QR codes to be scanned or recognised during an incident.
• Loss of data or service interruptions caused by third-party providers.
• Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use the Service.

Use of CareQR is entirely at your own risk.

6. Not a Substitute for Emergency Services

If you or someone else is in immediate danger or experiencing a medical emergency, you must contact your local emergency services (e.g. 000 in Australia) and follow the directions of qualified professionals. CareQR is not an emergency call system and does not initiate contact with emergency responders.

We may update this Disclaimer from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of CareQR after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Disclaimer.
