When you create an account, we may collect:

1.2 Emergency Profile Information

You may choose to enter emergency-related information into CareQR, which can include:

  • Name and optional profile photo
  • Medical conditions and diagnoses
  • Medications and dosages
  • Allergies and risk factors
  • Emergency contacts and phone numbers
  • Behavioural or communication notes
  • Address and other relevant details

You decide which information is displayed publicly when someone scans your QR code and which remains private within your account.

1.3 Technical & Usage Data

We may collect technical information such as:

  • IP address
  • Browser type and device information
  • Pages visited and usage patterns
  • Access times and referrer URLs

1.4 Payment Information

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full payment card details on our servers. Stripe's own privacy and security policies apply to the payment process.

We use personal data to:

  • Provide and maintain the CareQR Service.
  • Allow you to create and manage emergency profiles.
  • Display selected information to first responders when your QR code is scanned.
  • Authenticate and secure your account.
  • Process subscription payments and manage billing.
  • Improve the platform and user experience.
  • Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.

3. Legal Bases for Processing

We rely on the following legal bases to process personal information:

  • Consent - for optional emergency and health-related details you choose to provide.
  • Contractual necessity - to provide subscription services and maintain your account.
  • Legitimate interests - for security, analytics, and service improvement, where these interests are not overridden by your rights.

4. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell or rent your personal information.

We may share data with:

  • Supabase - for secure database hosting and storage.
  • Stripe - to process payments and manage subscriptions.
  • First responders or bystanders - via the public emergency page displayed when your QR is scanned.
  • Regulators, law enforcement, or authorities - where required by law or to protect our legal rights.

5. Public Information via QR Code

When a CareQR code is scanned, the person scanning may see some of the information you have chosen to mark as "public" in your profile. No login is required to view this public emergency page. You are in control of what is displayed.

6. Data Security

We use a range of technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and Supabase Row Level Security (RLS) rules for stored data.

While we take security seriously, no online service can be completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as necessary to:

  • Provide the Service and maintain your subscription.
  • Meet legal, accounting, or reporting requirements.

You may request deletion of your account and associated data. Some minimal data may be retained in backups or logs for a limited period.
